Yes - the name is a mouthful. In 1978 the Sonar came out - named thusly because the AutoFocus worked based on Sonar. The Model 2's came out in 1981 and I believe they just differ in looks. I haven't been able to figure out if anything other than a blue(instead of red) shutter release make mine a "Special Edition".
